OGEECHEE
STEEL AT A GLANCE
Ogeechee
Steel has been operating as a minority owned business since 1984.
The original owners included Janet Johnson, Buddy Johnson and Tommy
Garrett. We started with eight employees and now six of those still
remain a vital part of our structure. OSI’s Fabrication Operations
have remained AISC certified - Complex Structures
- since 1994. Ogeechee Steel was certified as an AISC Certified
Steel Erector for our Erection Operations in 1998. In 2002, we became
an AISC Certified Advanced Steel Erector (CASE).
We currently employ 73 individuals with more than 50% having from
15 to 30 years experience in the "steel" business.
Ogeechee
Steel has a 50'-0 x 300'-0 Covered Area to include 125'-0 of Crane
Rail. The back of the shop is also used to fabricate with over 20
benches set up to facilitate fabrication and welding. The Maintenance
Shop is located at the rear of the fabrication shop with a covered
addition to provide more lay down area. We have over two acres of
inventory space behind our facilities. Our shop currently produces
approximately 150 - 200 tons per week.

A
Quality Product Begins Here. |
|
We
fabricate and erect our projects with forces on the
payroll of Ogeechee Steel, Inc. This gives the General Contractor
the ease of coordination without having to handle disputes between
the fabricator and erector - OSI is both. This is one of the reasons
why you will notice, in our project section, that we are constantly
performing repeat work for our Contractors. |
Projects
of various sizes and specifications are manufactured, including:
packaging platforms for Frito Lay including sandblasting and special
painting; FAA Control Towers; Industrial Warehouses; Schools; Sport
Stadiums, and Multi-Story Office Buildings. We pride ourselves in
seeking those projects with intricate detail, including: Rolled
Verendeel Facades, Rolled Domes with Gable Trusses, Rolled/Skewed
Canopies, etc. We estimate projects ranging from 20 tons to 3500
tons of structural steel. Quotations often include grating, stairs/rails
and other miscellaneous items.
In quoting
your projects, "Schedule" is of great importance. A close
working relationship between Ogeechee Steel and your company is
developed, concentrating on the best coordination of all
subcontracting trades to ensure that deliveries are timely; as Time
Is Money. |
